The weather predictions had been somewhat uncertain, and it was showing when we arrived. Fortunately, it eased and were able to complete the walk, although it was misty all the time.
This was not the usual walk associated with Chauncy Vale, it entailed ascending to the top of cliffs at the western end and walking over what is pleasant open country to the eastern end of the main cliffs. At this point a descent was made to a shelf running along the mid level back to the western end, and passed cliffs, caves including deep one.
Interestingly on looking into the map, I noticed that the land south of Chauncy Vale is under a conservation covenant and extends over quite a large area.
