Mount Wedge
Wednesday 15 February 2023
I had been thinking of a walk to Mount Wedge and with a good weather forecast we headed off. It was a steady ascent with only brief sections of respite and the average incline a tough 21%
It is a nice forest and once on the upper part of the mountain the views are great. It wasn’t overly warm on the way up whilst in the forest and a light cooling breeze was felt in the open country. On the return it felt warm and sweaty once in the forest.
It took about 2:15 hours, morning break excluded, to reach the summit and some 1:45 back. The total distance being 7.5k.
