Levert Track Snake Plains
Wednesday 19 February 2025
I have walked on the Levert track between Neika and Snake Plains several times, but always there was a missing part just above the Pipeline Track. Recently I believe I might have discovered this linkage and this walk confirmed that, although there was a need to rewalk it at the end of the day to locate a small part that we had missed on the initial walk to the top of the hill.
The walk follows a noticeable pad through wooded country to the top of a hill before opening to the scrubby plains. The scenery here reminds me of the some of the far away bush in South West Tasmania. There is a pad through the scrub and eventually it emerges on the Snake Plains Track, but unfortunately that was when a shower commenced making the scrub quite wet.
On reaching the Pipeline Track we went on to the steep descent but zig zagged track to North West Bay River for lunch. Return was along the Pipeline Track.
The distance was 10.6k with an elapsed time of 5:06 elapsed.
