Risdon Hills
Tuesday 25 June 2024
This was a ramble through the hill country on the northern and eastern side of Risdon Brook Reservoir. The early part of the walk included a short sharp ascent before going on to an open flat area, ideal for morning break, then a short backtrack to follow a ridge line before dropping into Huon Gully where a track was followed uphill to the top of Catchpole Gully.
From there we walked through Split Rock Reserve where there were many grasstrees, before continuing downhill past an old animal pen and dip to the carpark.
Elapsed time of 5:37 for the 11.8k
Open plateau, morning tea stop |
Hilltop at ridge end with a distant Gunners Quoin |
Grasstrees at Split Rock Saddle |
