I was asked by PWS about the current status of vegetation on Thark Ridge, in the section west of the saddle and just before the high point and beyond. The last time I was there a bit of scrub was growing over the track in a few spots and thought it would be worth visiting to check and report back. When we got there it was obvious that it had been recut in the last year or so.
The weather was fine with the wind gradually reducing to quite gentle, the Epacris was good, the sun on the heath, especially the spice bush (Ozothamnus) was delightful and there was constant song from Crescent honeyeaters.
