It had been a long time since I went to Clark Cliffs and have no recollection of the steep southern side track. It was indeed steep and needed care whilst descending.
We commenced the walk using the northern side track which was a wide carved path that headed steadily uphill. There was a break at the Norfolk Bay Lookout before the narrow walking track to Musk Forest Lookout and Clark Cliffs with lunch at the latter spot. The abovementioned steep descent soon followed. It took almost 2 ½ hours to Clark Cliffs on our inward route, including 35 minute breaks. The homeward route took 1:10. Total time for the 6.3k circuit was 4:15.
A few spots fell soon after we got in the car to return
