Cathedral Rock

via Betts Hill Track
The route from Andersons Road near Lower Longley to Cathedral Rock is the nicest way to go with plenty if good views and not nearly as steep as when coming from Betts Road. After bypassing farmland, the track climb to an scenic open area was steeper than my memory, but it was then level until the final ascent to Cathedral Rock, which of course is anything but level. The route was mostly very pleasant walking in fine and quite warm weather.

Hi Peter,
ReplyDeleteDo you have the property owner's (Bel & Peter Rae?) phone number or email address.
I visited the property early yesterday but after no one was around at the time, I decided to go around to the Betts Road side to do the walk.
Next time, it would be good to try the walk from the Anderson's Road side.
Regards, Rod
I have been told there is no need to contact them if you use the track that starts a bit further up the road and skirts the house. I am checking on some details and will add it in the post. As comments don't get published until moderated, you can send me your email in one and I will get back to you (I won't publish the comment)
DeleteGood to know Peter
DeleteI walked a bit up a road and saw a faded sign that said something like "U can't read". I think it was more for people who wandered towards an adjoining property.
You went too far, the track is only a short distance from the gate at a gap in the fence.
